Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure
"Confidential Materials" includes anything you encounter on Plotmi that has not been publicly released, including but not limited to:
- Sneak peeks — short preview excerpts of unpublished manuscripts, scripts, or serialized work shared by writers for limited reader access.
- Full reports — complete manuscripts, scripts, novellas, books, pilots, and any long-form material shared with selected readers under paid or invited engagements.
- Writer's Sanctum content — works in progress, outlines, character notes, story bibles, structural breakdowns, and any draft material housed inside the writer's creative workspace.
- The Lab and Cue Cards — collaborative workspaces containing story development materials, plot beats, structural notes, and any creative content shared with co-writers or collaborators.
- Voice memos and transcriptions — audio recordings left by readers or collaborators, and their automated transcriptions, as part of feedback or development workflows.
- Chatmi messages — all direct messages between users, including any creative ideas, pitches, drafts, or confidential discussions exchanged.
- Promo posts and pitches — loglines, hooks, synopses, and pitch materials shared on the Circle. While visible publicly within Plotmi, these remain the intellectual property of the writer and may not be redistributed or repurposed outside the platform.
- Vibes submissions — any content, drafts, or creative materials submitted through Plotmi Vibes.
- Reader feedback and reactions — written notes, stamps, reactions, and any commentary readers provide on creative work, which belongs to the writer/reader relationship and Plotmi's data systems.
- Editorial reports — any analytical, behavioral, or insight reports Plotmi generates from reader engagement.
- Any unreleased product features, beta tools, or pre-launch surfaces you may encounter as a tester or early user.
All Confidential Materials remain the property of their respective authors, rights holders, or Plotmi, as applicable. Access through Plotmi does not transfer ownership, license, or any right of use beyond the specific platform interaction.
- You will not copy, reproduce, screenshot, screen-record, photograph, audio-record, transcribe, or otherwise capture any portion of Confidential Materials by any means.
- You will not share, forward, post, summarize, quote, paraphrase, or describe Confidential Materials to any third party, including but not limited to friends, family, colleagues, social media, industry contacts, agents, managers, producers, publishers, or competitors.
- You will not use Confidential Materials to create derivative works, develop competing projects, or exploit ideas, plots, characters, settings, dialogue, structure, or any creative element you encounter.
- You will not feed, upload, or input any Confidential Materials into AI tools, large language models, training datasets, or any third-party platform — including for the purpose of "analysis," "summary," "translation," or any other use.
- You will not discuss specific details of a writer's work publicly, including in podcasts, blog posts, interviews, or social media, without express written permission from the rights holder.
Conversations within Chatmi are private to the participants. You agree to:
- Not screenshot, copy, or share Chatmi conversations without the express consent of all participants.
- Treat any creative material discussed in Chatmi — pitches, loglines, draft ideas, story concepts — as Confidential Materials under this NDA.
- Not solicit other users to circumvent Plotmi (e.g., move conversations off-platform to avoid platform protections).
- Not impersonate other writers, readers, or industry figures inside Chatmi.
Plotmi offers optional voice memo features in Full Reports (for reader feedback) and in The Lab / Cue Cards (for collaborator notes). These recordings are transcribed using third-party AI transcription services. By choosing to use voice features, you acknowledge:
- Voice recording is fully optional. You are never required to leave a voice memo to use Plotmi.
- Voice content is processed by third-party APIs solely for the purpose of transcription. Plotmi does not sell, train models on, or repurpose your voice data.
- Voice memos and their transcriptions are Confidential Materials subject to all terms of this NDA. A reader who leaves voice feedback may not share that recording elsewhere. A collaborator who receives a voice note may not redistribute it.
- Detailed disclosures regarding voice processing, retention, and your control over voice data are available in our Privacy Policy and at each voice-enabled surface within the product.
When you collaborate with another writer in The Lab or Cue Cards, you agree that:
- All material shared by either party in the collaborative workspace is Confidential Material belonging to its original creator unless explicitly assigned.
- Notes, voice memos, structural feedback, and creative input left by a collaborator may not be used outside the collaboration without permission.
- Ending a collaboration does not release you from these confidentiality obligations. They continue to apply indefinitely with respect to materials encountered during the collaboration.
- You may not poach, recruit, or solicit another user's contacts, collaborators, or readers off-platform based on relationships formed through Plotmi.
Loglines, synopses, and pitch materials posted publicly within Plotmi's Circle remain the intellectual property of the writer. You may:
- Read them, react to them, save them, and engage within Plotmi's features.
You may not:
- Republish another user's logline, pitch, or promo content outside Plotmi.
- Repurpose, adapt, or claim another user's pitch idea as your own.
- Reverse-engineer a writer's project after viewing their promo or sneak peek.
Plotmi hosts a wide range of creative work. Confidential Materials — including sneak peeks, full reports, Writer's Sanctum content, Lab collaborations, promo posts, and serialized work — may contain mature themes, including but not limited to violence, sexual content, drug or alcohol use, strong language, trauma, abuse, mental illness, disturbing imagery, death, suicide, self-harm, or other heavy subject matter.
By accessing any work on Plotmi, you acknowledge that creative work reflects the artistic vision of its author and may include content you find uncomfortable, objectionable, or distressing. Plotmi does not pre-screen, rate, or label individual works for content. You access creative work at your own discretion.
This acknowledgement is in addition to, and does not limit, your confidentiality obligations under this NDA. The presence of mature themes in a work does not give you permission to disclose, share, or redistribute that work in any form.
- You will not share your login credentials, access tokens, or reader invite links with anyone.
- You will not allow another person to read, review, or use materials accessed through your account.
- You will not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with any platform security, watermarking, fingerprinting, tracking, or access-control system.
- You will not download, scrape, automate, or extract content from Plotmi by any means, including bots, browser extensions, or developer tools.
- You will report any suspected unauthorized access, leak, or security vulnerability to support@plotmi.com immediately.
Access to materials through Plotmi grants you no ownership, license, or commercial right beyond the specific platform interaction. All creative works remain the property of their respective authors or rights holders. Plotmi's brand, design, features, code, and content (other than user-submitted creative work) remain the property of Plotmi.
Your confidentiality obligations under this NDA begin the moment you create an account or otherwise access Plotmi, and continue indefinitely — they do not expire when you stop using the platform, when a project is completed, when your subscription ends, or when your account is closed. Materials shared in confidence remain confidential forever.
The only situations in which you may disclose Confidential Materials are:
- With express, written permission from the rights holder.
- When legally compelled by court order, subpoena, or other binding legal process — in which case you agree to give Plotmi and the rights holder reasonable notice when legally permitted, so they may seek protective relief.
Unauthorized disclosure of Confidential Materials may cause irreparable harm for which monetary damages would be inadequate. Accordingly, Plotmi and any affected rights holder may pursue any and all remedies available, including:
- Immediate account termination and removal from the platform.
- Injunctive relief to prevent further disclosure.
- Monetary damages, including statutory damages where applicable.
- Attorney's fees and costs of enforcement.
- Referral to industry organizations, employers, or law enforcement where appropriate.
These remedies are cumulative and not exclusive. Plotmi reserves the right to terminate any account at its sole discretion when it has reasonable belief that a violation has occurred, with or without prior notice.
If you believe someone has violated this NDA, or if you discover your own work has been disclosed without permission, contact us immediately at support@plotmi.com. Include as much detail as possible: usernames, links, screenshots, dates, and any context. Plotmi will investigate and take action where appropriate.
Plotmi may update this NDA as the platform evolves and new features are introduced. Material changes will be communicated to users through the platform, email, or both. Continued use of Plotmi after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The version in effect at the time of your conduct will govern that conduct.
By using Plotmi in any capacity, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Agreement. You understand that creative work is fragile, that unauthorized disclosure can permanently damage a writer's career and a project's commercial value, and that this platform exists only because writers can trust readers and readers can trust writers. You agree to honor that trust.
