A home for story lovers

Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: May 30, 2026 · Last Reviewed: July 16, 2026

1. Our Commitment

Plotmi LLC ("Plotmi") is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this.

We believe that creative work — the stories, films, and books shared on Plotmi — should be accessible to all readers, regardless of ability.

2. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Plotmi is working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some parts of the Platform may not yet fully conform to the standard, and we are actively identifying and addressing accessibility barriers.

3. Accessibility Features

Plotmi's current accessibility features include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • "Skip to main content" links on supported pages
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on interactive elements
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the Platform
  • ARIA landmarks and labels where appropriate
  • Color contrast designed to support readability
  • Resizable text without intentional loss of content or functionality
  • Alternative text on meaningful images where available
  • Descriptive link text intended to make sense out of context
  • Form labels and error messages associated with inputs where supported

3.1 Built-In Accessibility Controls

Plotmi includes built-in accessibility controls that allow users to personalize their experience directly within the Platform. These controls are available through Settings → Accessibility and may be adjusted at any time.

  • Text size: choose between Default, Large, and Extra Large text settings.
  • High contrast: increases text brightness and strengthens visual separation to improve readability.
  • Reduce motion: minimizes or disables animations, transitions, and smooth scrolling.
  • Underline links: underlines links so they are easier to identify without relying on color alone.
  • Persistent preferences: accessibility settings are saved in the user's browser so they remain in effect on future visits from the same browser and device.
  • Reset: users may restore all accessibility settings to their default values at any time.

These controls are designed to improve readability, navigation, and comfort without requiring browser extensions or third-party accessibility software. They supplement, but do not replace, the accessibility features available through your browser, operating system, or assistive technology.

4. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Plotmi is designed to support use with modern assistive technologies and accessibility features, including:

  • Recent versions of NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows
  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • TalkBack on Android
  • Browser zoom up to 200% in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge
  • Operating-system-level high-contrast and dark modes
  • Keyboard-only navigation

We recommend the latest versions of these technologies for the best experience. Older versions may have reduced functionality.

5. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some portions of Plotmi may not yet be fully accessible. We are transparent about current limitations and are actively working to address them:

  • Accessibility controls: The built-in accessibility widget adjusts text size, contrast, motion, and link presentation across supported pages. Because some older or highly customized components use fixed sizing or specialized visual layouts, settings may not affect every element equally.
  • User-generated content: Manuscripts, cover art, voice memos, and other content uploaded by writers and readers may not meet accessibility standards. We are not able to retroactively modify user content but provide tools to help users create accessible material.
  • Voice memos: Audio submissions are automatically transcribed where possible, but transcriptions may contain errors. Users can request manual review.
  • Complex visualizations: Some data visualizations in writer reports may have limited screen reader support. Text alternatives are provided where feasible.
  • Third-party embeds: Embedded content from third-party services (payment processors, video players, etc.) may not fully meet WCAG standards and are outside our direct control.
  • Beta features: Features in beta or experimental release may have known accessibility gaps that are tracked and addressed before full launch.

6. Third-Party Content

Plotmi relies on carefully selected third-party providers for payment processing, authentication, cloud infrastructure, hosting, communications, and other Platform functions. While we choose providers that prioritize accessibility, we cannot guarantee that every third-party component fully conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA. If you encounter an accessibility issue involving a third-party service, please let us know and we will work with the provider where appropriate.

7. Feedback & Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Plotmi. If you encounter accessibility barriers, please contact us:

  • Email: support@plotmi.com (subject line: "Accessibility Feedback")
  • Response time: We aim to respond within 5 business days
  • What to include: Page URL, browser and assistive technology used, description of the issue, and what you were trying to do

If your accessibility need is urgent and prevents you from completing a critical task, please mark your email "URGENT — Accessibility" and we will prioritize it.

8. Alternative Formats

If you need information from Plotmi in an alternative format — large print, audio, plain text, or other — please contact support@plotmi.com and we will work with you to provide it.

9. Assessment & Testing

Plotmi's accessibility is assessed through a combination of:

  • Automated testing tools (such as axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse)
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing on selected pages and workflows
  • User feedback, including feedback from people who use assistive technologies

We have not yet engaged a third-party accessibility auditor but plan to do so as the platform matures. Audit results, when available, will be referenced in this statement.

10. Formal Complaints

If you have made a good-faith effort to resolve an accessibility issue with us and feel your concern has not been adequately addressed, you may file a complaint with the appropriate regulatory body in your jurisdiction. In the United States, this may include the U.S. Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

11. Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is a continuous process, not a checkbox. Plotmi commits to:

  • Reviewing this statement at least annually
  • Incorporating accessibility into the design and development of new features
  • Training team members on accessibility best practices
  • Engaging with the disability community for feedback
  • Updating known limitations as they are resolved

12. Statement Updates

This statement was last reviewed on July 16, 2026. We will update it as our accessibility improves or as known limitations change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Reviewed" date at the top of this page.
